Who We Are
Our Mission
The WildRoot Collective cultivates community-centered resilience by supporting local organizations and creating shared spaces where people come together to learn, collaborate, and build collective care.
The WildRoot Collective strengthens the relationships, resources, leadership, and shared spaces that help communities thrive.
Through community investment, learning, stewardship, cultural preservation, and partnership development, WildRoot cultivates the conditions that support resilient, connected, and thriving communities.
Our Vision
The WildRoot Collective envisions a future where communities are strengthened through connection, collaboration, and shared care. Our long-term goal is to establish a permanent land-based hub that supports community gatherings, shared learning, and collective work.
In the near term, we advance this vision through community investment, partnerships, shared learning, leadership development, and community-centered programs. These efforts strengthen local ecosystems by supporting community-led initiatives, cultivating relationships, preserving knowledge, and expanding access to resources and opportunities.

Meet the Founder
Hello, I’m Martina, founder of The WildRoot Collective.
I am originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and now call Georgia home. I am a mom, social worker, and fundraiser, and most of my working life has been spent alongside children, families, organizations, and communities caring for one another and building with what they have.
The WildRoot Collective grew from seeing how much people were carrying without enough support. I met people who knew their communities deeply, while funding, access, and decision-making power often remained somewhere else. What stayed with me was how much was already there.
Neighbors shared food, information, and care. Elders kept stories alive. Growers tended land and memory. Parents created safety and belonging. Writers, artists, educators, and organizers made space for people to gather, learn, grieve, celebrate, and imagine. Communities were never empty places waiting for someone to arrive with the answers. They were already full of wisdom, history, creativity, relationships, and care. I kept returning to the same questions: What might become possible if resources moved more freely? What could grow if the people closest to the work had more say in what came next?
Those questions have followed me through social services, fundraising, community development, food systems work, farms, bookstores, organizing spaces, and learning circles. Communities like Soul Fire Farm, ReglaSOUL, Slow Food, the North American Food Systems Network, and the Food Systems Leadership Network helped me see how closely these things are woven together.
The WildRoot Collective is about what becomes possible when people, resources, stories, land, and care are brought into closer relationship.
We are here to support what communities are already building, create more space to learn and gather, and help resources move toward the people closest to the work.
We’re grateful you’re here.
Let’s build together!
